Back in 2018, Spotify began testing a new mobile feature, which became very tedious: from three to eight seconds of looping videos that occupy the entire screen. I’m not going to beat around the bush, in this article I will show you how to get rid of this annoying function if you continue to listen to Spotify on your iPhone or Android phone.

Disable Spotify Music Videos Playback

Disable Spotify video loops, are very simple, just do follow steps:

  • On the start page of the Spotify app for Android or iOS;
  • Click “Gear” in the upper right corner;
  • To access the settings, go to the “Playback” section;
  • Then turn off the “Canvas” feature.

Now you no longer need to process these annoying Spotify videos, which can be distracting when you launch the Spotify application on the phone installed on the dashboard. These videos almost certainly consume more cellular data and battery power than still images, despite Spotify claiming that they take up very little of each, so disabling Canvas is ideal in many ways.

Unfortunately, the above music video options are not displayed in some Spotify playlists, but here Spotify hopes to appear and allow users to also disable them.
