Often, the free space ends not only on the iPhone or iPad, but also on the Mac – especially if you have a 128 GB SSD “under the hood” and startup disk almost full with “Other”. In this case, you can, of course, use third-party applications, but you have to pay for good programs, and there are ways to clean your Mac with standard operating system tools.

Mac “Other” Storage Could be Huge
First you need to know, and if you even have this “Other” files:
- Go to the Apple menu – “About this Mac”;
- Open the “Storage” tab.
As you can see, I do not understand what is occupied Mac system taking up 100 GB…
Clean Cache Files
First we clean the cache files – depending on the computer, they can take from a couple of gigabytes to 10 or even 20 gigabytes. Open Finder and select the key combination Command + Shift + G.
In the window that appears, you must enter the path ~/Library/Caches.
After that, you will get access to the application cache files: choose for yourself which folder to delete. I advise you to preview how much disk space it takes.
What else is good to do – clean the folder “Downloads”. Yes, no wonder you looked into her for a long time? For example, I have last year’s files and folders of several gigabytes each with games and videos. Over time, as a rule, you forget about them, but they remain a burden for a hard disk or SSD.
What everyone forgets about is old backup devices in iTunes. Well, still, if there are copies of 3-4 gigabytes, and if at 30-40?
- Open iTunes;
- Select “Settings” -> “Devices” tab and remove excess trash;
- Now all this is in iCloud!
In general, do not forget to delete unused applications.
